Ask a new question. I am encoutering a technical problem with office on my new computer that comes with window I can open and create word and excel files. I can also create and open new powerpoint file but I cannot open my old powerpoint files which was created with office on my old computer that comes with window 7.

However, I found that I can open those old powerpoint files on my new computer in the window mail. When I open the powerpoint files on both the desktop or d drive with window 11, it always pop up message as below. Powerpoint can attempt to repair the presentation. If you trust the source of this presentation, click Repair.

I have already tried to save the file to d drive or c drive or use another powerpoint file. It comes up the same messages. Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community. I am having the same issue as well but only with pptx. When i attempt to do the above steps, i get the following message. The presentation cannot be opened.

Your antivirus program may prevent you from opening the presentation. To fix this problem, make sure your antivirus program is current and working correctly. If the problem persists and the presentation is from someone that you trust, turn off your antivirus program, and then try to open the presentation again.

If you do this, make sure you turn on your antivirus program again after you open the presentation. Right-click one of the files on your desktop and choose Properties from the pop-up menu. If it shows an “Unblock” option, put a checkmark next to it and click OK. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another.
